Tito Puente Dies At 71

Yesterday morning!, I was shocked just like y’all, hearing about the death of Latin Percussionist, Tito Puente. The folks who are in the biz, like myself were hit hard, because this man was a true friend to us! He seemed invinsible! I have several photos, that I have taken with him over the years. He was a friend to us all! A ball of energy! Always friendly! and caring! U won’t find to many performers that will take the time to give advice, as to to how to break in the biz! But, Tito was 1 of them. I worked with Tito at least 3 times a year for the past 8 years! I call him a friend! and will miss him much, he was bigger than life, to us over the years. One thing that I dug about this guy, no matter how big he got! international fame, etc. He always, I mean always, came back to his roots!, which is Spanish Harlem, and The Bronx! He is and will always be the " man" in my book! Tito! Rest In Peace! I feel blessed that I got to know U, and share some of your life! funkafize
