Darlene Love, The Happenings, Adam Weiner of Low Cut Connie, The Intruders featuring Phil Gay, Bobby Wilson, The Chantels, and more come together to celebrate the life, legacy, and music of Philly’s iconic disc jockey, the Geator with the Heater, the legendary Jerry Blavat.
For one night only join a special lineup of friends, Philadelphians, and VIP guests as they honor his memory and perform the music that the iconic radio DJ introduced to the city of brotherly love.
An irreplaceable source of Philadelphia Music history, Jerry Blavat’s live-wire personality got a generation of youth on their feet with little known R&B gems as a DJ for multiple radio stations including WVLT, WXPN, WTKU, WOND, and WBCB.
For seven decades he entertained crowds across Philadelphia, down the shore at his club Memories in Margate, the 6ABC Thanksgiving Day Parade, and his annual performances at the Kimmel Cultural Campus’ Verizon Hall. He was inducted into the Broadcast Pioneers of Philadelphia’s Hall of Fame, Philadelphia Music Alliance Walk of Fame, and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
