Candace Woodson – Perfect (Remix) #1 On the UK Soul Chart
Thanks to those of you who came out on Thursday evening for our event with Candace. As you can see from the chart, I wasn't BS'sing about her remix already being #1 on the UK Soul Chart. It will be released in the US on 6/23, on all of the usual digital platforms and of course you will also be able to listen via Soul-Patrol
A few words about Ms. Candace Woodson from me are in order, on a personal tip. Have you ever met anyone in your life, that you know without any doubt are going to achieve their goals? And this is clear within mere moments of meeting them? Or a person with a personality so dynamic that you know that you want to be around that person, if for no other reason, to grab some of their leftover energy?
Well, my friends, Candace is just such a person. Go on over to her website and say hello!

40TH ANNIVERSARY of the MOTOWN 25" TV SPECIAL/MOTOWN MADNESS (BLACK MUSIC MONTH)

This TV show (during the era of Reagan) was a significant historical milestone, for the United States. It allowed America for once to universally (including MAGA types) to celebrate the culture of Black Americans across the board. Turns out that even the most "hardcore racists, love Motown. It also allowed Black Americans to exhibit pride in their accomplishment, without America trying to marginalize the accomplishment....
At the time I was living in Houston, Texas I remember my father calling me to remind me to watch it. Later I can remember my father calling me with excitement, to tell me that he had purchased a VHS copy of the program. He said that it was important history and he wanted to own a copy of it.
My father wasn't alone in his feelings about the TV special...
Here on Soul-Patrol we would like to not only acknowledge the Anniversary of the Motown 25 TV Special, but also highlight some of the Motown related articles, audio & video we have compiled recently, as we celebrate Black Music Month. It’s an eclectic collection of essays, biographies, thought pieces, remembrances, etc. It’s not intended to be complete, it’s intended to be a start, not an end of your discovery of Motown.
Enjoy.....
