In 1974 I was 17 years old and of course that meant I was required to register for the draft. As you might imagine that caused quite a bit of conversation in the Davis Household. Finally, my mother put her foot down and said to me; "If you get drafted, I will give you the money to go to Canada. I'm not sacrificing my son for Henry Kissinger." That settled the issue. And that was the first thing that came to my mind when I heard that he passed away!
